This visually fascinating and exquisitely crafted film wins for sheer
originality, and its success in exploring a simple idea (the relationship
between a mother and son’s faces) in a very subtle and sophisticated
way. It is surprisingly touching, without being sentimental, and stands
up to repeated viewings as a real work of art. It is obviously the
result of considerable care and thought, and shows a real curiosity
about the way one face has evolved out of another. It also has a well-crafted
music track.

A strong runner-up, but
covering well explored territory – the filmic representation
of a nightmare. It is very moody and grabbed my attention from the
start. Excellently shot and edited, but not particularly comprehensible
(but then, of course, a dream never is.) While visually interesting
and well accomplished, the film was more notable for its style than
its content.
